The Academy of Music was founded in 1886, making it one of the oldest schools in the canton of Geneva. During its 130 years of history, it has taught a broad arts education in creating alternately drama classes, film classes and a ballet school. Since the landmark visit of Hans von Bülow, it provided the education of renowned musicians, but also counted among its students and professors musical personalities of our country as Vuataz Roger and Marescotti André-François who directly contributed to its prestige.
Since 1981, the Academy is a foundation of public interest and its faculty is composed of twenty members all having a recognized vocational training
On the 7th of September 2010, the school obtained the ArtistiQua Quality Certificate from ProFormations. Certification which was renewed in 2014.

FLEXIBLE EDUCATION
The Academy applies the program of the Confederation of Music School of Geneva, concerned to adjust its teaching to this one. However, it remains true to its objectives : ensuring musical quality education adapted to the abilities and needs of each student.
AUDITIONS, CONCERTS, SHOWS
It regularly offers to its students the opportunity to perform in front of a public numerous hearings that punctuate the school year. It also invites them to participate in exchanges with the outside world during the Open Days or during cultural events such as the Fête de la Musique, Ô Vives à Vous... For the teachers who prefer Chamber Music or Music Ensemble, students who wish are invited to practice this music in various forms.
MUSICAL CULTURE
The Academy offers a wide range of academic courses that allows students of all ages to hone their musical culture. It is also listening to proposals that could be given and plans the opening of new classes based on the applications.
LESSONS CHOICE
Students enrolled in the Academy in singing or instrumental classes have the choice between the "academic" course and the "free" course that keeps pace with the student (choice of the program, hearings optional).
The guiding principles of the Academy are to provide each student, regardless of the age, a music education that stimulates motivation and taste for music, by the experience of direct practical but also by meeting experienced musicians.
CONCERTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR
Open school, the Academy fosters exchange and collaboration with other schools and regularly hosts artists from elsewhere. The program of our events is kept up to date and can be viewed on our website.
DISCOVERY OF THE INSTRUMENTS
During the Open Days (September and/or May), children and adults can listen and try all the instruments taught at the Academy. This is the ideal approach before engaging oneself in the study of an instrument.
Before enrolling, students may request a trial lesson. In the extent of available spots, registrations are held throughout the year.
